With a “minor injury,” Edinson Cavani will miss Manchester United’s Champions League opener against Young Boys on Tuesday, but Cristiano Ronaldo has been named in the travelling squad.
Cavani, a Uruguay striker, picked up the injury in training ahead of Saturday’s 4-1 win over Newcastle.
Cavani will be out for “a week or so,” according to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Anthony Elanga, a 19-year-old winger, and Matej Kovar, a 21-year-old goalkeeper, are both chosen in the 22-man roster.
Ronaldo has been chosen in the squad for his first Champions League journey with the Reds since appearing in the 2009 final, in which they were defeated 2-0 by Barcelona. He scored twice in his first game back for the club at the weekend.
