Real Madrid came from behind twice to beat Celta Vigo in their first encounter at the Bernabeu in 560 days, with Karim Benzema scoring a hat-trick.
After Santi Mina had given the visitors the lead on four minutes, Benzema scored either side of a Franco Cervi goal.
Real added a third through Vinicius Junior, before Eduardo Camavinga scored six minutes into his debut. Carlo Ancelotti’s side went to the top of La Liga as Benzema completed his hat-trick in the 87th minute.
30,000 fans were welcomed back to the Bernabeu despite ongoing building work when Los Blancos played their first match there since defeating Barcelona in El Clasico on March 1, 2020.
Real Madrid is now tied on points with Valencia and Atletico Madrid at the top of the standings in terms of goals scored.
