Harvey Elliott, a Liverpool youngster, sustained a catastrophic injury during Liverpool’s 3-0 Premier League victory over Leeds United at Elland Road.
Elliott, 18, was injured after a tackle by Leeds defender Pascal Struijk, who was sent off in the 60th minute for his actions.
Mohamed Salah, a Liverpool teammate, instantly summoned medical assistance and shielded his eyes in distress.
Elliott was plainly in excruciating pain when he was carried away on a stretcher.
As the game ended, the former Fulham teenager wrote a statement on Instagram, stating that he is “on the road to recovery.”
