In Wednesday’s World Cup qualifier in Poland, England was denied victory at the death as replacement Damian Szymanski cancelled out Harry Kane’s stunning goal.
Following back-to-back 4-0 victory over Hungary and Andorra in September, the Three Lions completed their September triple-header with a trip to Warsaw for what was always going to be their most difficult Group I assignment.
England put in a mature performance, and Kane silenced the vociferous Polish crowd with a superb long-range effort, only for Szymanski to secure a 1-1 draw in stoppage time for the hosts.
