Tottenham’s January Adama Traore Transfer Hopes Dented As Wolves Contract Talks Reopened

Following the Spaniard’s failed move to Tottenham, talks between Wolves and Adama Traore have allegedly resumed and are proceeding well. Molineux officials had hoped to bind Traore to a new long-term contract, but talks broke down early this summer, raising fears that he may leave.

Tottenham’s initial offer was a loan with a £40 million buyout option, but Wolves turned it down.

Spurs made a direct £30 million offer earlier this week, one day before the transfer deadline, but it was also rejected. While Wolves coach Bruno Lage has stated that the club does not want to sell, it is believed that a bid of £50 million may have swayed their decision.

Adama’s current deal has less than two years left on it, and Wolves must keep in mind that his value will dwindle with each passing month. After being revived this week, The Athletic reports that talks over a new contract are progressing well.
