Wolves are preparing to offer Adama Traore a new £120,000-a-week contract, potentially making him the club’s highest-paid player.
Traore’s current contract at Wolves expires in two years, but the club is willing to double the length of his contract to keep him away from Premier League competitors.
As a result, they are expected to extend Traore’s contract for another four years, at a total of £25 million. Despite Wolves’ back-to-back 1-0 defeats to start the season, the Spaniard has had a strong start to the 2021-2022 Premier League.
Traore is regarded as one of the Wolves’ starting XI’s most important players. According to The Sun, the club now wants to press for a new long-term contract. Once he returns from Spain’s forthcoming 2022 World Cup qualification matches against Georgia and Kosovo, it is expected that Wolves will begin talks on a new contract in the coming week.
Traore’s current weekly wage is roughly £55,000, but Wolves are willing to more than quadruple it in order to keep him away from Tottenham or Liverpool.
