After his dramatic return to Old Trafford, Manchester United have released images of Cristiano Ronaldo in the club’s new home uniform. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner signed a £385,000-per-week, two-year contract at Old Trafford with an option to play until he’s 39 after leaving Juventus on Tuesday morning, according to the Red Devils.
United paid £12.9 million for the 36-year-old, with an additional £6.9 million in add-ons.
Ronaldo left United in 2009 for Real Madrid for a then-world-record £80 million. In Spain, he won two LaLiga titles and four Champions League titles, and his personal rivalry with Lionel Messi enthralled football fans all over the world.
The club has now unveiled six shots of the 36-year-old in the new United home kit for the 2021-22 season, which fans have been waiting for.
The club did not reveal Ronaldo’s new number, though it is widely expected that he will wear Edinson Cavani’s ‘iconic’ No 7 shirt.
