Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard has joined Crystal Palace for £15 million. On deadline day, the 23-year-old French striker agreed to a four-year contract with Selhurst Park.
‘I’m extremely glad to be here today,’ Edouard remarked in an interview with Palace TV. ‘I can’t wait to start training with the team and playing for this club.’ ‘Scoring goals in the Premier League may be the most difficult challenge I’ve ever faced.’ But I have faith in myself and my teammates to succeed.’
Edouard’s deal to Leicester City earlier in the window fell through as Celtic refused to budge on their asking price.
Prior to the deadline, Palace had been seeking to sign three new players, with a forward and a winger being their top priority. During his four-year stint at Celtic, Edouard scored 86 goals in 179 appearances.
