Willian’s representative has launched a stinging assault on Arsenal after his client chose to quit the club after opting out of his £22 million deal.
Arsenal announced on Monday that they and the player had mutually agreed to end his contract after a terrible year in north London.
The Brazil international has joined Corinthians, where he will get a significant pay reduction from his £220,000 per week contract at Emirates.
According to The Sun, Willian’s agent Kia Joorabchian has slammed Arsenal after the Brazilian left for rivals Chelsea just a year after joining.
He said: ‘He didn’t go (to Arsenal) for the money. He went for the project and the project wasn’t there. ‘What player has gone to Arsenal recently and has not been a disaster?’ Willian wasn’t the problem.’
