Eduardo Camavinga is expected to join Real Madrid on the final day of the transfer window after Rennes accepted a £27 million deal with add-ons.
Camavinga, who has been linked with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, has a contract expiring at the end of the season, and Real appear to have won the race to sign the highly rated 18-year-old.
Camavinga completed a medical with Real Madrid on Monday evening, according to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, after opting for Real over Manchester United. The midfielder progressed through Rennes’ development system before making his first-team debut at the age of 16, becoming him the club’s youngest professional ever.
Due to ongoing uncertainty over his future, Rennes has held Camavinga out of their starting lineup for the last three games.
The club had previously stated that the midfielder will either sign a new contract or be sold this summer, and it looks that they have accepted his departure.
