On deadline day, Crystal Palace are expected to sign Odsonne Edouard, a France U21 international striker, from Celtic.
The 23-year-old only has a year left on his contract after appearing in Sunday’s Old Firm match. Before completing his transfer to Selhurst Park, he will have a medical examination.
If Edouard does not receive the move he desires, he is willing to finish his contract, but Celtic have been holding out for their £20 million value since they owe a 40% sell-on to his previous club, Paris St. Germain.
Edouard’s deal to Leicester City earlier in the window fell through as Celtic refused to budge on their asking price.
Leicester have signed Patson Daka and are hoping to recruit Ademola Lookman from Red Bull Leipzig, who was also a target for Palace. Palace has been attempting to sign three new players before the deadline, with a forward and a winger being their top targets.
