A gripping Old Firm derby was settled by Filip Helander’s powerful header as a depleted Rangers suffered Celtic’s second Scottish Premiership defeat of the season at a crowded Ibrox.

With manager Steven Gerrard and several players sidelined due to a Covid outbreak, the home team made it seven derbies in a row without losing, winning six of them.

With the game goalless, Celtic attacker Odsonne Edouard squirted wide from close range before Helander’s header secured the points for the champions.

Rangers are now just a point behind Hibernian and Hearts at the top of the table, with Celtic in sixth place after two defeats in four games. It also means that Ange Postecoglou is the first Celtic manager to lose his first Old Firm derby since Tony Mowbray in 2009.
