Tottenham is competing with RB Leipzig for the signing of Barcelona starlet Ilaix Moriba before the deadline on Tuesday. Spurs and RB Leipzig have emerged as frontrunners to sign the 18-year-old, and both clubs are expected to undertake more negotiations over the weekend in their bid to secure one of La Liga’s most exciting young talents.
Spurs are reportedly interested in signing the all-action midfielder and are considering a move, according to Mailonline. However, they are aware that they will face stiff competition for his signature.
Leipzig of the Bundesliga is the biggest contributor. Moriba has also been linked with Chelsea, Manchester City, and Real Madrid.
Moriba’s representatives had been in talks with Barcelona’s top brass about a new contract.
However, he turned down Barcelona’s offer, and negotiations stagnated as the two parties couldn’t agree on a wage structure for the players. Barcelona are preparing to listen to bids for the Guinean-born Spain youth international as a result of the lack of progress.
