Huddersfield 1-2 Everton: Andros Townsend Gives Rafa Benitez’s Side Carabao Cup Victory

Moise Kean’s terrible tenure at Everton reached a new low when he was sent off at the John Smith’s Stadium, just days after playing alongside Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. Rafa Benitez’s team beat fighting Huddersfield thanks to a late winner from Andros Townsend, but Kean will be wondering when his luck will turn.

Last season, the £25million striker was loaned to PSG to regain his form, but he was given his first Everton start in a year, only to have a goal disallowed despite being onside, and then receive a contentious red card when he squared up to Huddersfield’s Sorba Thomas.

After 59 minutes, Kean was caught by the defender and whirled around to face him with a chest barge.

Referee Matthew Donohue believed there was enough force in the retaliation with a raised hand to order the 21-year-old off the pitch, much to the chagrin of Everton’s players.
