West Ham Identify £25m Jesse Lingard Transfer Alternative As Star Poised For ManU Stay

Jonathan Bamba of Lille is being pursued by West Ham as a replacement for Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard. The England midfielder, who had such a successful loan spell with the Hammers in the second half of last season, is increasingly likely to return to his parent club United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the manager of Old Trafford, said last week that he wants to keep the 28-year-old, and he was on the bench against Southampton as a substitute.

“I think Jesse’s first aim is to get into our team,” Solskjaer added. It is always your primary priority when your employer is Manchester United.

“I’ve got to leave players out of the starting eleven and squad. But they all have to remember they’re going to play a part if we’re going to be successful. “Jesse’s back to fitness, played really well in behind closed doors games and has come back in good shape. He’s got a big part to play.”
