Chelsea proudly announced on their website earlier this month that Romelu Lukaku has “returned home” after a seven-year wait and a decade since he last wore the shirt.
Lukaku’s second debut, against Arsenal on Sunday, was a dream come true as he scored the game’s first goal in a “unplayable” display that the player himself hailed as “dominant.”
His goal was his first for the club, after he had failed to score in his three years and 15 appearances at Stamford Bridge between 2011 and 2014, when he was a bit part player who had never started a Premier League match.
Chelsea cruised to a 2-0 victory over their well-beaten London rivals, and early indications are that Thomas Tuchel’s team will be difficult to stop this season with Lukaku on board.
