ManU Get Thrilling Glimpse Of Peak Pogba-But Can He Keep It Going?

Bruno Fernandes’ hat-trick earned him man-of-the-match honors in Manchester United’s 5-1 victory over Leeds at Old Trafford, but Paul Pogba’s contribution was arguably more important. While there has never been much discussion about Fernandes’ contribution to the Old Trafford cause since his arrival from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, things are very different with Pogba.

Indeed, Graeme Souness’ name was trending on Twitter on Saturday afternoon as a direct result of Pogba’s four assists, despite the former Liverpool and Scotland midfielder’s long-held doubts about the midfielder.

Pogba joined a list of seven men who have scored four goals in a single Premier League encounter, and he became the first Manchester United player to do so. The only other occasion it had happened since 2013 was when Harry Kane scored twice in a 5-2 win over Southampton in September 2020.

“People talk about Paul’s quality,” Fernandes added, “but his quality is unquestionable.” We’ve seen what he’s capable of.
