It’s A New Season But Same Old Arsenal-Men Against Boys Again, Jamie Carragher

Jamie Carragher slammed Arsenal’s defending for Brentford’s second goal in a 2-0 loss to the Premier League newcomers on the opening day. After 22 minutes, Sergi Canos gave Brentford the lead, and Christian Norgaard clinched the victory after 73 minutes by beating the Gunners’ defense and heading home.

Carragher, who was on Sky Sports commentary for the second goal, had a lot to say about Arsenal’s defending, describing the situation as “men versus boys.”

‘It just comes in and Norgaard at the far post… the goalkeeper can’t do anything, neither can Mari or Ben White, Calum Chambers is nowhere to be seen and it’s 2-0.’

The Sky Sports analyst didn’t stop there, comparing Arsenal to Tottenham Hotspur in north London.

‘Spurs have it that people say it’s ‘Spursy,” he added. I believe it is past time for Arsenal to have something similar. Because this is merely an Arsenal display. Everyone understands what an Arsenal performance entails.
