Lukaku’s Agent “Threatened” Over Chelsea Transfer

Federico Pastorello, Romelu Lukaku’s agent, claims he and his family were threatened while working on the striker’s £97.5 million Chelsea transfer. Lukaku, 28, departed Inter Milan after helping the team win its 19th Italian title following an 11-year wait.

Talk that the agreement was “manufactured” or “coerced” for financial advantage, according to Pastorello, “is leading everyone astray.” He remarked, “Many of them who currently attack and threaten me praised me profusely for bringing him to Milan.”

“I have always accepted – and will continue to do so – confrontation and constructive criticism: they are part of the game for those who play a role with considerable media relevance.

“What we absolutely cannot tolerate are the falsehoods, insinuations, insults and threats we have received [also against my family and my daughters], which have far exceeded the limits of civilisation, decency and tolerance.”
