Roma Agree £34m To Sign Abraham

Chelsea would rather sell Abraham to a foreign club than a Premier League competitor; the 23-year-old striker has fallen out of favor at Stamford Bridge since Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard; Arsenal are also interested in signing the England striker.

Tammy Abraham has agreed to join Roma from Chelsea for £34 million, according to Sky in Italy. The 23-year-old striker must now decide whether or not he wants to join the Italian club, which is managed by Jose Mourinho, a former Chelsea manager.

Atalanta of Serie A and Arsenal of the Premier League are also interested in Abraham, but Chelsea want to sell him to a foreign club, making a move to their London rivals unlikely.

Abraham fell out of favor at Chelsea midway through last season when Thomas Tuchel took over as head coach, and despite being perfectly healthy, he was left out of the squad for the Champions League final in May.

Despite little playing time in the second part of the season, Abraham finished as Chelsea’s equal top scorer with 12 goals. He has been in all three of Chelsea’s pre-season friendlies and could feature in the Super Cup final against Villarreal on Wednesday.
