John Stones will sign a new five-year contract with Manchester City to cap off his comeback. Stones’ time at the club appeared to be coming to an end until last season, when he reclaimed his spot and formed an excellent central defense partnership with Ruben Dias.
The 27-year-contract old’s was about to expire in June, but he has agreed to a new term that would keep him employed until 2026.
Stones’ form improved once he re-entered the lineup in the tenth game of the season, and his solid performances saw only one goal in 12 games pass him by.
Guardiola seems to have made up his mind about the Englishman, but he was ecstatic when the £47.5 million signing delivered once more.
