Following the news of Lionel Messi’s leaving from Barcelona, the club created a seven-minute video containing the best clips of the player. After his original contract with Barcelona expired this summer, Messi became a free agent, although he was anticipated to re-sign with the club following promising initial conversations between all parties.
However, according to LaLiga’s financial constraints, Barcelona has revealed that Messi will not be signing a new contract and has instead published an emotional farewell video on their social media sites.
The film, titled ‘The Ultimate Best of Messi,’ is a compilation of the Argentine’s best goals and moments over his 21-year stay at the Nou Camp. The film was titled ‘thank you Leo’ on Barcelona’s Twitter page as they paid respect to his incredible career and dedication to the club.
At the age of 13, Messi joined Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy from Argentine team Newell’s Old Boys. He went on to make his senior debut in 2004 at the age of 16 and appeared in 778 games for the club throughout the course of his 21-year career.
