Jack Grealish’s £100 million move to Manchester City will be completed today. The Aston Villa skipper will sign his contract in Manchester before completing the British record transfer transaction.
City became favourites to sign the talented Villa player in March, according to Sportsmail, and they have remained steadfast in their pursuit, initiating negotiations over their bid last week and offering his £100m clause last Friday. At the Etihad Stadium, Grealish is expected to earn in excess of £230,000 a week.
Matt Hughes stated in May that City were planning to make Grealish the first £100 million player in English football. In June, we reported that despite Villa’s offer of a new deal, City’s £100 million bid was expected to be enough to acquire Grealish.
