Robin Olsen’s move To West Ham Is Back On After Transfer To Lille Collapses…

After a deal to Lille fell through, Robin Olsen’s move to West Ham is said to be back on track. Following the addition of Rui Patricio from Wolves as his No 1 by new Roma manager Jose Mourinho, Olsen is regarded to be surplus to requirements.

According to Il Romanista, Lille, the French Ligue 1 champions, were unable to complete a contract to replace Mike Maignan, who left to AC Milan, leaving the door open for West Ham to make a move for the Swede. Olsen spent the season on loan with Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton, where he played 11 times in all competitions, including seven Premier League appearances.

Jordan Pickford’s inconsistent club form corresponded with those outings, but despite the England star’s great exploits at Euro 2020, the chance of more first-team play at Goodison Park remained slim.

To provide support for Pickford, new Toffees manager Rafael Benitez has acquired former Bournemouth and Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic on a free transfer.
