Chelsea Dealt Covid Scare On Pre-season Training As They Cancel Drogheda Friendly…

On their pre-season tour to Ireland, a suspected positive coronavirus case was discovered in Chelsea’s pre-season training squad, only hours after the Blues were observed joking around in big groups on Thursday.

Thomas Tuchel’s team was scheduled to play Drogheda United in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Thursday, but the match has been canceled following Chelsea’s announcement of the Covid scare.

Earlier on Thursday, Tuchel’s training game at the club’s training camp devolved into chaos, with numerous Blues players hugging each other in the excitement of competing against each other.

However, the west Londoners are already ‘investigating’ the possibility of a positive case, which could throw their pre-season plans into disarray. ‘Earlier today, we had a suspected positive Covid case, which we are examining,’ the club said in a statement.
