Rafa Benitez Closes In On First Two Everton Signings

Benitez announced last week that he intends to bring in wide players during the summer transfer window in order to provide much-needed support for top striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Everton are nearing an agreement to bring Andros Townsend to Goodison Park. They are also seeking a deal to recruit Demarai Gray, a former Leicester winger, from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal that may cost them £2 million if they can reach an agreement with the England U21 international.

Rafa Benitez, the club’s new manager, announced last week that he intends to bring in wide players during the summer transfer window to provide much-needed support for top striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

And he’s moved quickly to put his demands to the club’s board of directors into action, with a move for Townsend, who is available on a free transfer after his contract with Crystal Palace expired in June.
