Ryan Bertrand Completes A Crucial Move To Leicester

Posted by

Ryan Bertrand has joined Leicester City on a two-year agreement, becoming Brendan Rodgers’ third summer signing. After allowing his contract at Southampton to expire, the former England defender became a free agent, and Leicester have won the fight for the left-back, who will turn 32 next month.

Bertrand, whom Rodgers coached at Chelsea’s reserve and junior levels, is the experienced full-back he needs to battle with teenager Luke Thomas.

While Christian Fuchs left at the end of last season, James Justin, who can also play in that position, is recovering from a significant knee injury.

Leicester have already signed long-term target Boubakary Soumare from Lille for £23 million, as well as attacker Patson Daka from Red Bull Salzburg for the same sum.
