‘Hate Will Never Win’-England Sancho Responds To Racist Abuse

After receiving racist comments following England’s defeat by Italy in the Euro 2020 final on Sunday, Jadon Sancho said “hate will never win.” After all three missed penalties in the 3-2 shootout loss, Sancho, 21, Marcus Rashford, 23, and Bukayo Saka, 19, were abused on social media.

The abuse was condemned by England manager Gareth Southgate, Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and the Football Association.

“As a society, we must do better,” Sancho remarked in an Instagram post. “It’s also important to hold these folks accountable.”

As the UK Football Policing Unit combs through thousands of social media remarks intended against the three black players, four people have been detained so far.
