Rafa Benitez is allegedly interested in signing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli as one of his first signings at Everton.
Former Liverpool manager Benitez, who was officially named as the next manager at Goodison Park to the chagrin of many supporters, has began compiling a list of targets, one of which is rumoured to include a new center back.
According to 90min, Koulibaly is one of Benitez’s favored choices for addressing his squad’s difficulties in that area.
The partnership barely lasted a season, as Benitez moved on to Real Madrid, but Koulibaly swiftly established himself as one of Europe’s most sought-after players. Benitez’s name is alleged to have come up in negotiations with Everton’s director of football Marcel Brands since then.
