Only one day before the Euro 2020 final, England’s open training session left Phil Foden out.
The Manchester City player sat out the session after suffering a’minor knock’ and being held out as a precaution, according to the Three Lions’ official Twitter account.
With a diagnosed foot injury, Foden is now a serious question for Sunday’s historic European Championship final at Wembley. It’s a setback for Foden, who impressed after coming on as a substitute in the semi-final and was hoped to start against Italy.
Due to Foden’s injury, Southgate is poised to name an unchanged lineup for the first time in 37 games, dating back to the 2018 World Cup semi-final.
