Injured Tuilagi Out Of England Squard
Centre Manu Tuilagi has withdrawn from the England squad ahead of the summer Tests due to his ongoing injury problems. On Saturday, he injured his hamstring in Sale’s Premiership semi-final loss to Exeter.
He has not joined up with England before Sunday’s ‘A’ match against Scotland in Leicester and the Tests against the USA and Canada at Twickenham in July after being checked by club medics.
In his place, Fraser Dingwall of Northampton has been called up. Tuilagi had recently returned from a long-term Achilles injury that had kept him out of the British and Irish Lions’ South Africa tour.
And, despite being chosen in England manager Eddie Jones’ training squad over the weekend, he will have to wait until the autumn to make his first international appearance since March 2020.
