Donny van de Beek, a Manchester United midfielder, has been ruled out of Holland’s Euro 2020 campaign due to injury.
The 24-year-old was named to Frank de Boer’s 26-man squad for the tournament this summer, but he was unable to compete due to injury. There will be no call for a replacement.
‘Donny van de Beek has to let the European championship pass him by,’ the Dutch FA said in a statement on Tuesday. An injury has sidelined the Manchester United midfielder.
On Sunday, June 13, the Netherlands will face Ukraine in their first group match. Austria will be the opponent on Thursday, June 17, and the group stage will finish on Monday, June 21 with a match against North Macedonia. All duels take held at Amsterdam’s Johan Cruijff ArenA.
