Jamie Carragher has come out in support of Manchester United fans who caused the match against Liverpool to be postponed on Sunday.
Hundreds of Manchester United fans descended on Old Trafford, demanding that the club’s American owners, the Glazer family, sell the club and leave, in part due to the Glazers’ involvement with the doomed European Super League project.
The majority of Sky Sports commentators supported the fans’ right to peacefully demonstrate, as did the majority of the fans, while ex-Liverpool captain Graeme Souness seemed to pin the cause of the protest on the team’s lack of performance on the pitch.
‘I think (the anger) stems from United’s lack of dominance as much as what happened (with the European Super League) last week,’ he said.
