FA Cup: Iheanacho Helps Leicester Reach Final Since 1969

After beating Southampton at Wembley to make their first FA Cup final since 1969, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers says his team has “the opportunity to build history.”

Kelechi Iheanacho’s second-half goal was the difference for the Foxes, who last won a big final in 2000 when they won the League Cup.

“That is what this game is about, making a memory,” Rodgers said, despite the fact that he has yet to win a major trophy in English football despite winning seven trophies in less than three years as Celtic boss.

“It’s a dream come true,” Iheanacho said after benefiting from Jamie Vardy’s excellent work to score at the second attempt 10 minutes after the break. I used to watch the FA Cup when I was younger, and now I have the opportunity to play in the final.
