With UEFA set to declare on Monday that Dublin will not be a host city for the postponed European Championships this summer, England is in a showdown with Russia for extra Euro 2020 games.

The Football Association of Ireland has informed UEFA that their government will be unable to guarantee attendance at the three group games and round of 16 match in June, which will be reported at a meeting of the UEFA executive committee on Monday.

For the group games between Poland and Slovakia, Sweden v Slovakia, and Sweden v Poland, as well as the last 16 game, which may include England or Scotland if they win Group D, UEFA would have to find alternate venues.
