Pep Guardiola says he’ll “never forget this season” after Manchester City beat third-placed Leicester to close in on the Premier League championship.
City needed 11 points from seven games to win their third league title in four seasons, thanks to goals from Benjamin Mendy and Gabriel Jesus in the second half.
“More than any other rivalry, the Premier League is my favorite. We’re getting there, very close “Guardiola added after his team took a 17-point lead at the top. “Liverpool are the champions; they hold the title, but we are on the verge of taking it.”
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the majority of City’s matches this season have been played without spectators, according to Guardiola.
