Ref Lee Mason Is A Disgrace To Brighton Players For Disallowing Lewis Dunk’s Goal

After disallowing a Brighton goal twice in chaotic scenes in their relegation six-pointer with West Brom, referee Lee Mason was called a f***ing shame and an embarrassment.

In the first half, Brighton defender Lewis Dunk scored a fast free-kick, which Mason initially disallowed before reversing his decision and awarding the goal. Mason had to blow his whistle again after VAR announced the goal had been ruled out, eliciting angry reactions from the Brighton players.

But he did nothing and suffered the violence for no apparent cause. Since the ball wasn’t over the line when he blew his whistle, if he had only waited for the VAR to check, it would have reinforced his first decision to disallow.
