Gary Lineker Questions Kieran Trippier’s 10-Week Ban For Breaching FA Betting

Gary Lineker pointed a finger at the Football Association and suggested that when it comes to betting, they are targeting the wrong people because clubs, such as his old Leicester side, will allow fans to gamble without result.
Lineker was a strong opponent of the ‘ridiculous’ suspension of Kieran Trippier after FIFA upheld the FA verdict to hand a 10-week penalty to England internationally for urging a friend via text message to ‘lump on’ his move from Tottenham to Atletico Madrid.
Gary Lineker suggested it is ‘worse’ for clubs to promote betting to supporters than picking on individual players
On Tuesday, when Leicester City promoted Parimatch UK, their official betting partners, on the eve of their game against Tottenham, Lineker was left bemused with the social media message urging fans in betting markets to ‘Back the Foxes.’
