The rivalry between Marseille defender Alvaro Gonzalez and PSG forward Neymar continued on Wednesday after the teams faced off in the Trophee des Champions, with the Spaniard calling the Brazilian “trash” on Twitter.
With Mauro Icardi and Neymar scoring for the Parisians and Dimitri Payet adding a late consolation for Marseille, new PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino won his first trophy with the club in the match.
Neymar and Gonzalez have a history stemming from a September match incident in which Neymar was sent off for slapping Gonzalez in the back of his head.
Neymar took the opportunity to aim a jab at Gonzalez on Twitter after the game on Wednesday, posting a photo aimed at the defender. Gonzalez would answer quickly, replying: “My parents always taught me to take out the trash. Go OM always.”
