Lampard Cannot Ignore Hudson-Odoi’s Form Amid Ziyech And Pulisic Inconsistency

Who is this season’s top scoring winger for Chelsea? The response might surprise you.
In Sunday’s 4-0 win against Morecambe, Callum Hudson-Odoi hit his fifth goal in just eight starts. His support for Mason Mount’s opener doubled his account for the campaign on that front, too.
In total, in what was a disappointing season, he made 16 appearances. He was partially hampered by injury, but also by rivalry for positions on either side of the assault by Frank Lampard.
Yet the numbers of the 20-year-old are impressive and better than those of Hakim Ziyech or Christian Pulisic, who are the preferred choices for Lampard on the flank of an ideal forward line that at the point of it also includes Timo Werner.
Both Ziyech and Pulisic had their own injury issues, but with nine each, they started more games. In total, they’ve both made 14 appearances each, two less than Hudson-Odoi.
