The senior member of the Abu Dhabi royal family, Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan, is in advanced negotiations with Rams owner Mel Morris with the EFL close to giving the deal the green light.
Derby are captained by Wayne Rooney, England’s record goal scorer.
