The decision of Donny van de Beek to join Manchester United has been challenged by former Netherlands boss Marco van Basten.
Over the summer, the 23-year-old transferred from Ajax to Old Trafford, but has so far failed to gain regular playing time and was an unused replacement in the club ‘s recent 0-0 draw with Chelsea.
Van Basten has now weighed in on the scenario, saying that Van de Beek could not have leapt at the chance to sign for United and waited for a move where he could have played more regularly instead. “It’s very bad for a boy like that to play just six or seven times a year,” Van Basten told Ziggo Sport.
