The Spanish giant tried to bring the Lyon star to Camp Nou but were unable to get a deal over the line before the transfer period closed.
According to Goal, Lyon sporting director Juninho confirmed that the Netherlands international had reached an agreement to join the Catalan outfit, but the two sides are yet to do same.
