Lingard, 27-year-old has earlier been linked with a switch to north London in recent days, but Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho is not interested in reuniting with a man he worked with while in charge at Old Trafford.
The mildfielder has fallen out of favour at United in recent months, and was left out of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad as the team suffered a surprise defeat in their first game of the new season against Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.
