It was jubilation galore for Man United and their fans as the Champions League-chasing Red Devils stretch unbeaten run to 17 games to further deepen Villa’s relegation fears. The goals started pouring-in after a Contentious Penalty was taken by Bruno Fernandes. It was Bruno Fernandes’ converted penalty which made it 17 Premier League goals for him this season that roused United from their slumber as it was not long after Bruno’s that Mason Greenwood’s thunderbolt put them in control on the stroke of half-time. United could have had more as demoralized Villa’s head fell after Paul Pogba made it 3-0 to score his first goal since April.
Fernandes’ made it 13 penalties this season.
While the victory elongates United unbeaten run to 17 games in all competitions and moves them to within a point of fourth-placed Leicester in the race for Champions League qualification, Villa remain 19th and four points from safety with four games remaining to keep them in EPL next season.
