The murder of Olamide Alli shocked lagosians on the 21st of June 2020. The mother of two was stabbed to death by her fiance, Chris Ndulue, who later committed suicide by drinking a poisonous substance.
In response, AGS Tribe (Accessing grants for startups), a women entrepreneurial empowerment community, of whom Olamide was a member, came together on the 23rd of June to fundraise N20million for her children.
Within a week they exceeded the set target & were able to raise N22million. According to the founder of AGS Tribe, Ifedayo Durosinmi-Etti, Olamide had in the past contacted the organization about her business Pearl Academy, and they worked together to get her a grant to set up her school.
