On Thursday the second day of July 2020, Manchester City’s players will honourably welcome the new Premier League champions Liverpool in a guard of honour atmosphere at Etihad Stadium as courtesy demands. It will be Liverpool’s first match since clinching the trophy by having The Blues beat City at Stanford Bridge last Thursday. When interviewed, Pep the City boss said and I quote: “We are going to do the guard of honour of course,” said City boss Guardiola. “We will greet Liverpool, when they come to our house, in an incredible way. We are going to do it because they deserve it.”

In other related matter, Guardiola whose contract with Manchester City expires in 2021 has again refused to say whether he will be willing to extend it or not. Speaking before Sunday’s FA cup quarter final against Newcastle United, Guardiola said; “I am incredibly satisfied to be at this club. I don’t want to think too much about things that are far away.”
