Is there anyone who had placed his bet against Albion in the Saturday clash? That person is having a spoilt tickets now, all blame to Neal Maupay.
No one knew that the Nicolas Pepe’s superb curling shot which fired the Gunners into a deserved lead with just over 20 minutes to go, would not give them three points or at least a draw until Lewis Dunk scrambled an equaliser over the line from close range to set up a barnstorming finish. At that point, Arsenal supporters who watched from their homes still hoped that another goal would come. Of course it did come but not in their favour as it was Neal Maupay of Brighton who secured a well-deserved but surprised victory for his side; lifting them a bit above the near-relegation zone where they sat before the clash.
