Turkish Int’l Footballer Ahmet Calik, 27, Dies In A Horror Car Crash

A 27-year-old Turkish international player was murdered in a road accident in the capital city of Ankara.

Ahmet Calik, a member of the Turkish national team for eight years, was alone in his vehicle when the horrific accident occurred. At around 9 a.m. local time, his car was reported to have overturned on the Ankara-Nigde highway.

Calik was the only passenger in the vehicle on Tuesday morning, according to Turkish reports, and he was pronounced dead at the spot.

An inquiry into what happened in the moments leading up to the tragedy is ongoing.
Calik was a professional footballer who played for Turkish Super Lig team Konyaspor till the accident.

‘We are very devastated by the loss of our football player Ahmet Calik, who has won the love of our supporters and our city since the first day he came to Konyaspor,’ they said in a statement.

‘Our condolences go out to all of us, particularly the family of our footballer Ahmet Calik.’
