Arsenal Transfer Swoop For Barca Goalkeeper Neto Has Taken A Step Closer

ARSENAL are reportedly intensifying their pursuit of Barcelona outcast Neto in order to bolster their squad. The Brazilian goalkeeper is one of several players rumored to be on the market this summer by the Nou Camp giants.

According to reports, Barcelona is keen to offload squad members who are no longer needed in order to settle debts and keep Lionel Messi. And the club’s desire to trade Neto, 32, is said to be great news for the Gunners, who are said to be concerned about the future of Bernd Leno, their number one goalkeeper.

However, it is believed that attempts to move were halted because Barcelona officials were unable to reach a transfer agreement. Neto, who joined the Nou Camp for £23.3 million from Valencia in June 2019, is said to be eager to play more first-team football.

Last season, the Brazilian, who is also a Tottenham target, only made 12 appearances for Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona side in all competitions. According to Spanish site Mundo Deportivo, the Brazilian had already requested a move to Arsenal in January of this year.
